Author
Julia Donaldson, Illustrated by Peter Bailey
Julia Donaldson MBE is perhaps the UK’s best-known writer for the very young. She is a keen singer and songwriter and her astonishing gift for rhyme ensures the status of The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and many other joyful titles as modern classics. Julia was the seventh UK Children’s Laureate and when she’s not touring the country promoting a love of rhyme and reading, she divides her time between Sussex and Scotland.||Peter Bailey was born in India and grew up in London, where his father worked at the Victoria & Albert Museum and where Peter was first inspired to start drawing. In his extraordinary career he has illustrated over 100 books by authors and poets, including Philip Pullman, Allan Ahlberg and Alexander McCall Smith. Peter’s beautiful line drawings bring to life many different worlds, both real and imagined.
