Big Cat Read On - Big News, Small World

Dear Diary,
It’s 1970 and there are lots of really big things going on in the world, like the war in Vietnam. My older sister, Cecily, has been on protest marches, trying to get President Nixon to stop the war, but it feels like I’m too young to do anything about it. Or can I? Maybe to do something big, I need to do something small.

Hi! I am Sarah, the author of many books such as What Stars Are Made Of, Breathing Underwater, and Big News, Small World. I was born in Utah, but have lived all over the United States. Like Lily, I was born with Turner syndrome! I am always thrilled to share stories about girls with Turner syndrome like me, and write the kinds of books I would have loved to see when I was young. I have also always been interested in the Vietnam War period and the conflict and debate it caused at home in my own country. I wasn't alive during that time, but researching the history and the technology of the time period was absolutely fascinating. I am honored to share this story with you, about how anyone, no matter how small they may feel, can make a big difference in our big world. You can learn more about my books on my website and follow along with my newsletter!
