Tarnelia Matthews is a British Caribbean author, born and raised in South East London.
After studying English and Creative Writing at university, Tarnelia spent a couple of years working within primary school education. It was here that she got to exercise her story telling, using her quirky imagination to bring a little light and laughter to children.
A few years later, Tarnelia qualified as an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor with a desire to combine her passion for mental health, writing and children’s literature through books showcasing diversity, inclusivity and mental wellbeing.
Tarnelia writes both fiction and non-fiction material for children of all ages and backgrounds and seeks to combine both the creative and therapeutic elements of her work to create engaging stories for children to relate to and learn from.
