Author
Rachael Davis, Illustrated by Deise Lino, Prepared for publication by Collins Big Cat
Growing up as a mixed-raced only-child in a single-parent working class family, Rachael Davis often felt like the odd one out and stereotyped. She loved maths and science at school, but it wasn’t until she was much older that she really began to love English. Although she was very creative at school and enjoyed stories, she never read any books about children like her. So, now Rachael’s an author, she jumped at the chance to write a twisted fairy tale featuring a child with a similar background to her: a feisty young girl with a flair for science.
