A note from Charlotte: Writing and illustrating Beaverly Hills was great fun, I really wanted to work on a book about beavers! I’ve been developing ideas for some time around Chip and Woody, so it was wonderful to see the characters finally come to fruition. In this story, I wanted to explore the idea of the central character having a disability, that was sometimes perceived by the beaver himself to be a problem. This theme was important to me, I drew it directly from my own experience of having a disability. Similar to my experience, Chip has eventually realised that through perseverance and determination, he can achieve anything, I hope the readers will be inspired!
