Collins and Google for Education trialling new features to bring curriculum content and Google’s suite of classroom tools together

Collins is delighted to announce a partnership with Google for Education, the first education publisher in the UK to do so, at BETT 2016.

Collins Connect allows teachers to use digital versions of Collins textbooks in the classroom and students to access them from home. It adds video, interactives and digital assessment to the mix, saving teachers time and making for more interesting and effective learning for students.

Collins and Google for Education are working on integrating Google Classroom and Collins Connect. Teachers and students will be able to sign into Collins Connect with their Google IDs, meaning fewer delays and fewer forgotten passwords. Teachers will be able to set homework tasks from Collins courses seamlessly within Google Classroom via the Classroom share button in Collins Connect. Students will work on their assignments in Google Drive and submit them to the teacher using Google Classroom. This single-sign on (SSO) integration enables students to work together more seamlessly and streamlines the assignment workflow for the teacher making it even easier to provide ongoing feedback on assignments.

Emma Fish, Education Partnerships, Google for Education says "We're excited to launch single sign on and the integration of the Classroom Share Button to offer Collins Connect users a seamless experience with Classroom and Google's suite of tools. This integration will allow schools to combine engaging content and advanced collaboration tools to save teachers and students time and improve communication with students. ”

Find out more at BETT by visiting Google’s stand (C230). S Peter’s Collegiate School in Wolverhampton is the first partner school on this project. One if its teachers, Neil Williams, will be sharing his experience of using Google Classroom and Collins Connect for maths teaching at 3.30pm, Friday 22nd January.
